  • Ooooh...What a Wonderful Quarter!

Hello Friends!  Yup....it's been a while.  Xanga had to send me and email to get me to post again.  Hehe.  You know what?  I'm really enjoying this quarter.  I have wonderful classes with all the teachers I wanted.  I also have wonderful people around me who have to put up with my random laughter.  I'm working 12 hours a week and I'm still not overwhelmed with my schoolwork. I'm available for lunch EVERY DAY of the week.  Isn't God fantastic?

So the big question right now is...what do I want to do this summer?  As of now, here are the options I'm aware of:

Traveling Team "IT" project June 5-July 24th.  If God wants me in this program, I gotta find some way to raise money for it.
Find an internship in Sac, SLO, or Valencia.  Preferably SLO
    Africa: South Africa? Kenya?  Tanzania?
Take summer school and work part time...hang out at Shoreline a lot =)
Mexico:  My friend is getting married
Iran: My friend is getting married

At the same time, my mom wants me to save up some money so we can take a trip to Hawaii.  My mother needs a vacation.  I also REALLY want to go to Israel again this December because this trip will be a service trip.  Instead of touring a lot, we'll focus more on sharing Jesus with people we encounter and we'll provide physical relief for refugees.

I guess that's it for now.  I'm addicted to traveling.  By the way...

I got into Cal Poly's ARCE Masters program!  Woot woot.  Now, what do I want to do for my thesis?  Gosh, I really want to save the world.  I guess the journey starts now.  Who's on board?

I'm pretty sad that my roommates and some of my best friends are graduating.  So...I gotta maximize my time with them now!  The thing is, especially now, i'm REALLY bad at not only checking my voicemails, but also checking my e-mail.  I got accepted into the Masters program Thursday afternoon and I didn't know until now, Friday night.  Hehe...whoops.  Anyway, schedule a lunch or dinner date with me.  I love one-on-one catch up times.  God bless you!

  • Hellooooo!

Sunday we had a Scotland fundraising BBQ at Shoreline.  It was so much fun. I got two pies in the face.  Yum!Afterwards, I was planning on playing softball but I cut my left thumb so I didn't feel right using someone else's mitt with a bloody thumb.  Plus, I was in a dress and dress shoes...so I guess I was better off not playing.  perhaps next week!  Hey people in missions...I know I didn't return you support letter to you but please know that I'm praying for you!

Here's an update on my summer so far. The things crossed out means I'm not doing that anymore.

  • Yay for summer!

What an adventure.  3 months of little to no sleep, 3 months of being a hermit, 3 months of learning contentment, and best of all, 3 months of intimacy with Jesus!  Any regrets?  Mostly missing out on people's lives.

So I decided...that my season of busyness is over.  I've been "busy" for the past 7 years and I think it's time for me  to slow down.  The adventures have been amazing.  Packing my schedule back-to-back, taking more classes than I can handle, travelling all around the world....such a thrill!  So what does non-busy look like to me?

    Here are the rules:
I'm limiting myself to 4 classes max.
Doing my daily devotionals is non-negotiable.
Get back to documenting my life (Cuz God does amazing things ALL THE TIME!)

How non-busy is my summer going to be?  Well, let's see.  I need accountability!

    Summer school MWF
    Work MWF
Summer Internship at Shoreline Calvary Chapel TR 8:30-4
    Learn to sew
Read EVERY book I want to read =)
    Paint my room

    Play at the beach
    Go to Solvang

Become a musician (in 3 months)
    Choir
Sunday night Prayer class (Bible College)
Wednesday night Old Testament study (DAVID!  PSALMS!)
Wednesday late night choir practice (I can finally learn to sing!)
    Go to farmer's
    BBQ regularly
    Cook with Nat
    Make jewelry with Joan
    Go to Scotland! (8/20-9/1)
    Donate stuff I never use

    Women's prayer ministry at shoreline

Wow, if I did all the Shoreline stuff I want to...that's 31 hours at that church a week.  Travel time is 15 minutes each way.  We'll see how that goes.  That's all I can think of.  Think I can do all of this without being too busy?  I hope so!  I love you guys!  Randomly call me, please! =)  God bless you.

  • Hello friends!  Boy, life has been exciting.  Let me start from...a month ago =)

After finals, I grabbed some lunch and drove back to Sac.  I've never driven back by myself AND i printed the wrong directions, so I kind of winged it.  Didn't get lost once.  Cool, huh?  I also didn't stop.  I guess I didn't need any potty breaks this time.  In Sac I got back with just enough time to say hi to my dog, scarf down some dinner, and head to Grace Bible Church for Wednesday night prayer.  After prayer, Heidi, Denise, and I went to Marie Callendar's for some dessert.  I got back home just in time to greet my mom.  I slept well that night.

Thursday, my mom and I ran a bunch of errands.  We went grocery shopping, did some laundry, got the carpet cleaned, went out for sushi, went to relatives' house, went to other relatives' house, then came home to sleep.

Friday, I got up early to eat breakfast with Felicia.  We went to Caffe Latte, then to Tapioca Express and got silly little keychains from the quarter vending machine thing.  I then played with my dad for a long time and soon was off!

I drove to Berkeley to meet my cousin and try on bridesmaid dresses at David's Bridal.  After being there for a few hours, I had to drive back to SLO.  Too bad I hit traffic.  It was painful.  I didn't get back to SLO until 10:00 pm, where I scarfed down some dinner and frantically packed for Chicago.  I ended up sleeping at 1 am, just to wake up at 3:30 am

I got my wake up call, called Taka the team leader, jumped in the shower, and had my roommate drop me off another teammate's house so we can go to the airport together.  What a great roommate.  Thanks Ruth!

Chicago was great.  I won't go into much detail.  Lots of running around the entire city with tours and museums and concerts and of course, eating!  Lots of great bonding times.  Coming back from Chicago, I had just enough time to throw somethings together to get ready for school.  Another quarter.

This quarter has been rough, but I've been enjoying every minute of it.  My theme for this quarter is to play with God more.  With praying throughout the day and reading the Bible every chance I get (even if it's only 5 minutes in between classes) has been such a blessing.  I'm currently mad at Solomon for being so selfish.  I'm having such a hard time reading Proverbs and Kings because I'm so mad at him.  Do you ever get mad at people in the Bible?

That's it for now!  I would love to play with you so let's play together sometime!  God bless you!

  • Hello!  Man I haven't updated in so long.  Well...I must make up for it:

    Grace's Theory:

You cannot skip (like half run, half hop) and stay angry.  I tested this one out.  I was walking my dog one day and he was just taking forever.  THEN he poops and kicks it at me and makes a huge mess with all the wood chips.  Indeed, I was angry.  So I angrily started skipping and sure enough, I was giggling uncontrollably.  Next time you're angry, try skipping =)

So much has happened and I really don't wanna overwhelm you.  Israel...OH ISRAEL! Looking at pictures really brings back memories.  I wish I could relive the entire thing all over again.  I miss my team.  SEA OF GALILEE! THE DEAD SEA! JERUSALEM!

Here's a story.  David called himself a psalmist.  If anything happened in his life, we can count on him to write a psalm.  When we were at En Gedi by the Dead Sea, we took some time and wrote God a psalm.  Now...when anything happens in my life, I really enjoy writing psalms too.  I haven't shared them with anyone.  Perhaps they'll be published after I die or something.  What a joy to sit down and write love letters to God.

So...it's Thursday of the first week of school.  I miss Felicia, Kaci and Sophie!  I'm glad I got to talk with each of you tho.  I haven't really done anything yet this quarter but I already feel overwhelmed.  Perhaps it's THINKING of all the things I want to do this quarter.  It's been such a blessing to have Becca live with us again.  I like her.  She makes me laugh.

That's it for now!  Ask me questions about Israel.  I really enjoy sharing my experience.  =)
